Self Love

Spread the love

I guess everyone has the right to laugh and think whatever they need to at any given point. However, so do I. I placed a notification up on both the group and the page, stating, closed for spiritual maintenance.

How is that funny? I wondered about this for hours on end. In my world, I call it the “ice-cream”, as children, no matter how cold it was, we always wanted the ice-cream right?

As grownups, we overlook our ice-creams all the time. When someone sits across from me in a session, and I merely ask – what do you do for yourself… it takes them almost five to ten minutes to respond. I do this, BUT I do it because I “kind-of” enjoy it. I don’t really know – one of my other fascinating responses.

Your ice-cream. Mine is easy, taking either a book and soaking in a bath for three hours, and the world disappearing. Or lying on the bed covered in my tiny (or not) furkins, and just listening to the purrs, watching a mind-less, or captivating movie.

Or, this could be it as well, talking to all of you. I have learned that taking time out of life for yourself is very important – and many responds with, but I do not have time, and my comeback within one second – All you have is time… it is all you have.

Putting the phone down when you walk in the door from work. Not being a hostage, not allowing people to take advantage, not allowing people to drain you, to take the time for yourself, and venturing within – finding YOU again.

When we demand the ice-cream like a five-year old, we have in some form lost something of ourselves. We gave too much. And kept too little to sustain us… OH, the boundaries, the healthy boundaries. The zero tolerance for abuse. In the end, when you hand yourself over, and receive nothing – you have been abused, violated, sadly – you allowed it to happen.

I have asked the question so many times over… who heals the healer – and oh, some have taken off and started some interesting workshops on this subject – you may find my comment a tad odd, a workshop on who heals the healer… how about the healer themselves. How about, knowing thy self and resisting the urge to GIVE and GIVE and GIVE.

For a couple of days, I have been on a spiritual quest, one can call it that. Guess what, it was needed. I needed to be reminded of ME.
