The Roles People Play

Spread the love

Good Morning Beautiful Divine Creations of the Universe,

I spent an hour responding towards messages received on the website, and it is heart-warming knowing that the spectrum has broadened with readers and people interacting. That means that I should re-look what is posted and speak to individuals “directly”.

I am Elsa in Frozen today – let it go, let it go… Love the lyrics to that song by the way. There is so much we can learn from reading that “song” and not only hearing it. As for me, I always look for a deeper understanding in many things. Maybe that is what keep me awake while others are sleeping!

For my web-site readers, I am female, I know it shows as Nick Louw posting, that is my husband. As I am very honest in saying I am technologically challenged. More importantly, IT does not hold my interest at all. He sits and figures things out, bless him and show me the “pretty” afterwards.

During our earth journey, we each play MANY roles in the rich and colourful theatre of human experience.

But when we become “over-identified” with our role, we run the risk that it can take us over, causing a loss of balance in our lives. If this occurs, we may find ourselves perplexed and disturbed by the seemingly critical importance and seriousness of it all.

Retaining a healthy and balanced perspective is essential to both our emotional and our spiritual well-being. So, do not become obsessed with your role to the extent that you lose touch with your humanity or put at risk your sensitivity to the rights and needs of others.

We each are creator and director of our unique life drama, so be sure to choose a role which reflects your higher nature and serves your higher good.

Very nicely put Shuveny, but what the hell does this mean?

I will use a simple example this morning. Let us take a mom, not leaving you out gentlemen, there are many who plays both role of mom and dad… and we have many male readers, so see, there you are. But down the battle-axe. 😊

Many women will tell you that it is easy juggling balls of being a mom, and being a career woman. It brings a thought to my head. My “boss”, (I hate that word) spoke something so unbelievable one day that it stuck in my head and will forever stay. She said that her husband wants children, but she is at her peak in her career, what if she has a baby and hates the child after for “ruining” her career?

Believe it, one thing I do not do, is lie. To say that I was shocked beyond belief at those words, is as you guessed and understatement. And then you have me, that over compensate for the lack of a house full of children with many felines. What can I say, sucker for punishment?

Those roles we are trapped within, we think that they are what people need us to be, but we forget the most important person in this all, us. We, ourselves sacrifice every part of our souls for something we think will bring love, comfort and blessings. Instead of being lead or believing in the grand design of good. You are more than welcome to think of the wording, good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people, yes it does. But, I am also not going to live a life with the warning bells signing all the time or live in fear of what if’s.

But let us get back to the roles, one of the master secrets of success is determining the price you will pay, then making the committed decision to PAY THAT PRICE – so if you are a stay home mom, or dad, you chose to pay the price, did you not? You made the commitment, did you not?

Half measures will never produce whole results. Complaining to your children that you are tired and drained, and complaining got your spouse about not having time for yourself, will not get you the needed desired result. You placed yourself in the role, and the role consumed you. Anger outbursts about the phase of your life you are in, also not rewarding the desired outcome.

And then there is the other beautiful thing – we guilt our children. We say weird little things, of you know I do everything for you, and I get nothing in return, or we had a bad day, and you will make me leave you… who knows what you use to make yourself, your higher self, feel better about the choices you made.

If something is worth doing, do it well. Do it with great passion, with conviction and enthusiasm, all wrapped up in unstoppable persistence and determination to achieve your goal.

It is your right, to let your children know, that one day a week is mamma’s day off. There will be no cooking, every man and woman for themselves. Help with some cleaning, the general things that needs to be done. And never ever, feel guilty about this. No matter if you feel the husband, or wife works, and you HAVE to keep things clean and in order. My words to you, is NO. You are on a dangerous path of self-sacrificing and taking your “now role” way to seriously. Am I listening to my own words this morning, oh yeah…

I too, find myself in a role I am not liking very much right now. The role of driver. No, not a car, 😊 Driving life itself. Waiting on the side-line with my hazards on for some people to catch up, to move forward. There joined decisions that needs to be made. We have to move forward, or we will stagnate and end up with lesser than what we have now. It is simple, the only thing guaranteed for us is the inevitable changes of life. The cycles, and the newness that comes with a different role.

Do not be afraid to crack the lid off the role you are playing. Do not be afraid to command that things you need in life, and do not be afraid of the choices you must make to move forward. Do not let fear creep in. Do not allow the what if’s to hold you hostage. You think I believe this is easy, quite the contrary.

I know how much courage this takes. I know how unsettling the unknown is – but one thing I do not have, nor allow boarding in my soul, is fear of the unknown.

What will be, will be. And nothing will change that fact.

Break the mould. Spread your wings and fly.
