Let Go

Spread the love

Healing evolution feels as if it is bursting from the seams this morning, why you may ask – I don’t have the answer for you. It just “feels” like it.

From a wonderful “social” on Saturday, yeah, we were meant to make millions of dollars, BUT – I love giving my personality free reign with – hopeful – people whom understand me by now.

Spent time with my daughter yesterday, baking a cake – I hate baking. Strong words, I know, but I do… I will cook anything for you by smell. But one cannot smell if the cake mix is done, correctly can you? The limitation in the “strict” measuring of everything drives me insane. AH-HA, a wonderful constraint within my beautiful self…

I woke up this morning with a strong thought. An almost painful one. We will not be discussing the mentioned, however, I feel like sharing with you – reason we are here, right?

“People” used to tell me I look just like my mother. If I could find the “right” words to explain to you, the amount of anger, disgust and almost hatred that rose within when I heard those words, but I am limited to express that emotion. In my mind, I thought that if I look like her, I must be “like” her. To me it was an insult. As I grew, I would respond with, I look like only myself, I am my own person. That gave me comfort. Comfort, that I had the choice to be who I want to be, and whom I shall be, in my own time.

I look at my mini-me. And my heart beams when someone says, she looks just like you Shuv. I run within, checking what I am showing her through my actions. Will she be proud of someone telling her one day, you look just like your mom? Will she see it as a compliment, or as I did – the worst kind of insult ever.

As I sat with those feelings this morning, cold and raining in Johannesburg – IN JULY!!! I came across my beautiful “author unknown” writings. It may have nothing to do with what I speak about atop here – but somewhere deep within my soul, I felt at peace, for reasons, unbeknown.

LET GO

To “let go” does not mean to stop caring, it means I can’t do it for someone else.

To “let go” is not to care for, but to CARE ABOUT

To “let go” is not to fix, but to be supportive

To “let go” is not to JUDGE, but to allow another to be a human being

To “let go” is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes, but to allow others to affect their own destinies.

To “let go” is not to be protective; it’s to permit another to face reality – THEIR OWN

To “let go” is not to deny, but to accept.

To “let go” is not to NAG, SCOLD, or ARGUE, but instead to search out my OWN shortcomings and correct them.

Once told, it is easy “to let go”…. I now remember why, I thought it a difficult path, and something I aspire towards every day.
